What to get out of your (first) demo call
Congrats, you have your (first) demo call!
How do you prepare? Which questions do you ask? And how do you decide on your pricing?
This guide provides answers to all those questions. This is actually the template that we use as well when we have a demo call. We are always open to join you on a demo call. If you do that, there are two scenarios:
- You are in the lead and do most of the talking.
- We are in the lead and we do most of the talking.
In both scenarios we will ask you for feedback: what went well? What could be better? And did you see any buying signals?
Opening the call
- Introduce yourself - and Twin AI.
- Outline the agenda. See next steps as well:
- Explain what you (want to) do - which is probably done in the introduction.
- Discovery
- Short demo
- Practical information
- Next steps & summary
Discovery questions
Always ask:
- Which work is currently manual?
- How much time is spent on repetitive tasks?
- This is important, as this calculates your pricing and their ROI. See more about that in this helpdesk article: AI freelancer revenue model.
No need to ask all of the following questions, focus on relevance:
- What specific tasks are the biggest pain points?
- Is there other repetitive work that could be automated?
- What would a successful solution look like for you and your team?
- What’s stopping you from implementing automation now?
Short demo
Show the Twin AI platform with a workflow you built. You obviously can ask Twin AI to send you an example of a workflow that fits better to the clients needs.
Don't spend too much time on the demo: a visualisation that shows (1) customisable workflows and (2) guardrails is enough! Clients need to understand the concept, not how to build a workflow.
Practical information
Timeline: When do you want to move forward?
Budget: a fee for building the workflow (up to you to decide) and then a monthly payment (more here: AI freelancer revenue model). Building the workflow:
- Simple workflows: 5 to 15 hours.
- Intermediate workflows: 15 to 30 hours.
- Complex workflows: 30-40 hours.
Multiply this by the hourly rate that you negotiate with the client. Take support from Twin AI into account as well:
- First line support from Roel is free. He's a level 2 workflow builder.
- Second line support from Mark (level 4) is €125,- an hour.
- Third line support from Patrick (level 5) is €150,- an hour.
Next steps & summary
- Summarise the call and discuss the next steps.
- If it becomes too technical, invite someone from Twin AI.
- Confirm if they have all the information needed.
Final Step: Automate Note-Taking
After the call, use any AI tool to summarize your notes for better follow-up and documentation.
