Which grant schemes Twin supports

There are two different answers to "does Twin support my scheme": what Twin knows about a scheme, and what Twin can write for it. This article covers both, and where to look up each.

The grant database: what Twin knows

Twin keeps a public catalogue of Dutch national, provincial and European funding schemes at www.twinai.nl/subsidies. It is open, needs no login, and states on the page how many schemes it currently holds and that it is updated daily. The page is in Dutch.

Results are sorted by next deadline. A histogram at the top right shows how the deadlines fall across the coming twelve months, and the filter column narrows the list by closing date, minimum amount, status, type, target group, project phase, region and theme. Each filter shows how many schemes match. The table lists the scheme, its maximum amount, the funding rate, the deadline and the status.

A scheme's own page carries a summary, who runs it, the countdown to the next deadline and the full list of deadlines, plus sections on eligibility, finances, the application process, eligible costs and the forms. It also shows the date the entry was last verified and links to the official publication it is based on. Read that publication before you submit.

You can also ask the assistant inside Twin to search the same catalogue, for example "search the grant database for WBSO". See Working with the assistant.

Document types: what Twin can write

Knowing a scheme is not the same as being able to write its application. What Twin can write is decided by the document types available to your organization. A document type carries the funder's structure: the sections, their order, their word or character limits and the criteria each one is assessed on.

To see the ones you have, open a project, go to the Documents section and click Document. The New document window lists every document type in your organization, with a Search document types box and Show more at the bottom of the list. That list is the definitive answer for your organization, and it grows over time, so check it there rather than working from a fixed list.

If the scheme you need is not there, click Request a document type at the bottom of the same window and tell us which one you need. See Starting a document.

Linking a grant to a project

On a project page, the Type field in the meta bar is the link to the grant. Click it to open a Grant picker with a Search grants box, and Unlink grant to remove the link again.

Linking a grant does more than label the project: the project takes the grant's deadline, so the project, its tasks and the Home overview all count down to the real submission date. You can still set your own date over it. See Projects: where an application comes together.
