How to chat with the AI agent

Use the chat to give instructions, ask questions, or provide feedback to the AI while it works on your document.

1. Open the AI Agent tab

Click the sparkle icon in the side panel to open the AI Agent chat. You see a welcome message and a text field at the bottom.

2. Send a message

Type your instruction and press Enter to send. The AI reads your message, your sources, and the current document state, then takes action. Examples:

"Write all sections based on my sources."
"Rewrite the project description with more technical detail."
"What is missing in section 3?"

3. Attach files

Drag files into the chat input or click Add files. Attached files automatically become document sources the AI can use.

4. Steer or stop the agent

While the AI is working, you see a status indicator. Send a message to redirect the agent's focus, or click Stop to cancel generation.

Good to know

Your conversation history is preserved across sessions.
Press Shift+Enter for a new line without sending.
